Large Scale Filmmaking Courses for Easter

21st Century Kids. (2 days).    7-10 Year Olds.
 
21st Century Skills for 21st Century Kids. An introduction to filmmaking and the moving image.
Monday & Tuesday, 18th & 19th April 2011, 10 am – 4 pm, at Phoenix Square.

In an encouraging environment, with an emphasis on doing rather than listening, young people will learn the basic functions of video cameras, how to frame and compose shots and how to use a tripod.
 
Young people will have the opportunity to be creative with cameras, devising or recreating some short scenarios and learn to edit using iMovie.

The course is pitched at beginners, though at the start we will ascertain the level of participants and take into account what they want to learn. 

Two Day Film School.  (2 days).   11 – 16 Year Olds

Two Day Film School.  Learn the basics of filmmaking with a professional filmmaker.
Wednesday & Thursday, 20th  & 21sr April 2011, 10 am – 4 pm, at Phoenix Square.

Learn the basics well and they will be at your command for life. On this workshop you will learn how to use a camera, the tips and tricks of shooting like a pro, plus the best way to film moving shots. 

Young people will have the opportunity to be creative with cameras, devising or recreating some short scenarios. Young people will learn the basics of editing, and how to export films for DVD or YouTube.

The course is pitched at beginners, though at the start we will ascertain the level of participants and take into account what they want to learn. 

Filmmaking Boot Camp. (1 day).    16 + And Adult
 
Filmmaking Boot Camp.  Learn the basics and be ready to make films!
Saturday 16th April 2011, 10 am – 4 pm, at Phoenix Square.
 
One day basic training for beginners or anyone who would like to improve their camera and filmmaking skills. We will start from the basics, so no one is left behind, though this course will be suitable for those with some experience. At the start we will ascertain the level of participants and take into account what they want to learn. 

The course plan is not fixed and remains flexible, depending on participants skills, needs and desires. Early on participants will be asked what they would like to learn and what the want to get from the course, which will be tailored accordingly. 
 
The course includes basic camera operation, framing and composition, how to make the best use of available light and recording sound. There will be time for lots of Q & A, for you to find out more about practical filmmaking.
